
Banana Bread

Ingredients
- 2 to 3 very ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Directions
- Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4×8-inch loaf pan with butter or nonstick spray. - Mash the Bananas:
In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas. - Add Wet Ingredients:
Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until well combined. - Add Dry Ingredients:
Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir to combine. Add the flour and mix just until incorporated — do not overmix. - Pour Batter into Pan:
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula. - Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. - Cool and Serve:
Remove from oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Cook’s Note:
For added flavor, fold in 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, pecans, or chocolate chips before baking.
